The Pakistan Cricket Board has decided to place Multan Sultans in an open auction, marking another major development ahead of Pakistan Super League Season 11.
According to media reports, the PCB is preparing to issue a formal advertisement for the auction process in the coming days. The decision comes amid growing interest from foreign investors in PSL franchises, reflecting the league’s expanding commercial appeal.

Earlier, the PCB had announced plans to run Multan Sultans on its own for PSL 11, following changes in franchise ownership arrangements. However, the latest development indicates a shift in strategy, with the board now opting to sell the franchise through an open auction.
Sources suggest that the same auction framework being used for the two new PSL franchises is likely to be applied to Multan Sultans as well. If finalized, this would mean that the team could enter PSL Season 11 under new ownership.
The move is seen as part of the PCB’s broader effort to attract fresh investment, enhance transparency, and strengthen the long-term financial stability of the league. With PSL 11 approaching, further details regarding the auction timeline and bidding conditions are expected to be announced soon.
