The Specialized Healthcare Department Punjab has announced that all government teaching hospitals will remain fully operational during the Basant holidays to ensure uninterrupted medical services.
According to the official statement, hospitals will function normally on February 6 and 7, despite public holidays, so that citizens do not face any shortage of emergency healthcare.
OPDs and Emergency Services to Stay Open
Authorities confirmed that outdoor departments (OPDs) in teaching hospitals will remain open, and patients will receive routine medical treatment along with emergency care.
This step has been taken in anticipation of potential injuries and health issues that may arise during Basant celebrations.
Doctors and Staff to Remain on Duty
Medical staff, including doctors and paramedics, will not be granted leave during the festival period. All departments will operate with full workforce to handle patient flow efficiently.
Focus on Public Health and Safety
The health department emphasized that uninterrupted healthcare services are essential during large public celebrations. Preparedness measures have been put in place to handle any sudden increase in patients.
Officials have urged citizens to celebrate responsibly while following safety precautions to avoid accidents.
