Cricket Scotland has officially announced its 15-member squad for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, scheduled to take place in India and Sri Lanka from February 7 to March 8.
Experienced top-order batter Richie Berrington will lead the team in the 20-nation tournament. The squad reflects a balance of experience and youth, with 11 players retained from the previous T20 World Cup held in the USA and West Indies in 2024.
New Faces Get First World Cup Call-Ups
Three players — Tom Bruce, Finlay McCreath, and Oliver Davidson — have been selected in a World Cup squad for the first time. Afghanistan-born fast bowler Zainullah Ihsan has also earned his maiden call-up after recently qualifying to represent Scotland.
Selectors believe these new inclusions will add depth and flexibility to the team ahead of a challenging tournament.
Traveling and Non-Traveling Reserves Named
Alongside the main squad, Cricket Scotland has announced two traveling reserves: Jasper Davidson and Jack Jarvis.
Meanwhile, Mackenzie Jones, Chris McBride, and Charlie Tear have been named as non-traveling reserves, who will remain on standby in case of injuries or withdrawals.
Selection Subject to Visa Approvals
Cricket Scotland confirmed that final participation depends on visa clearances for players and staff. Scotland received late entry into the tournament after replacing Bangladesh, which withdrew due to unresolved concerns.
Officials said they are working closely with authorities to ensure all travel formalities are completed in time.
Group Fixtures and Match Schedule
Scotland will start their T20 World Cup 2026 campaign against West Indies on February 7 in Kolkata.
They will then face Italy on February 9 and England on February 14 at the same venue. Their final group-stage match will be played against Nepal in Mumbai on February 17.
