Realme has officially unveiled the Realme 16, introducing the standard model in its latest lineup after the launch of the Realme 16 Pro and 16 Pro+. The company is expected to expand availability to more markets in the coming weeks.
The launch challenges the long-standing belief that slim smartphones must compromise on performance or battery-related features.
New Air Design With a Unique Touch
Unlike its Pro siblings, the Realme 16 features a fresh Air Design, inspired by the iPhone Air concept and recent Google Pixel phones. The rear panel includes a horizontal camera visor, giving the phone a modern and premium look.
A standout feature is the selfie mirror placed on the edge of the device, allowing users to capture high-quality selfies using the rear camera — a rare and creative addition in this price segment.
Slim Yet Durable Build
Despite its sleek design, the Realme 16 is just 8.1mm thick and weighs 183 grams, making it comfortable for daily use. Impressively, the phone carries IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K ratings, offering strong protection against dust, water immersion, and even high-pressure water jets.
Color options include White Swan and Black Cloud.
AMOLED Display With High Brightness
On the front, the Realme 16 sports a 6.57-inch AMOLED display with Full HD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The panel can reach up to 4,500 nits of peak brightness, making it suitable for outdoor use.
The display is protected by AGC DT Star D+ tempered glass, and an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor is embedded beneath the screen for fast and secure unlocking.
Performance and Software
The device is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6400 Turbo chipset, paired with 8GB RAM and storage options of 128GB or 256GB.
On the software side, the Realme 16 runs Android 16 with Realme UI 7.0, bringing multiple AI-powered features designed to improve productivity and everyday usability.
Camera Setup
The rear camera system includes:
-
50MP primary camera (Sony IMX852)
-
2MP monochrome sensor
The phone supports Realme’s LumaColor Image Processing for improved color accuracy and dynamic range.
For selfies, the Realme 16 offers a 50MP front camera, while the built-in selfie mirror also allows users to capture selfies using the rear camera for better image quality.
