A new biometric verification system has officially been implemented in courts across Punjab, including the Lahore High Court and all district courts, aimed at improving transparency and eliminating fraudulent practices within the judicial system.
The system came into force on Tuesday, making NADRA-based biometric verification mandatory for all petitioners, respondents, and sureties before court proceedings can move forward.

Biometric Verification Now Mandatory
According to court sources, no hearing will take place and no bail bonds will be accepted unless the concerned individuals successfully complete biometric verification. The move is designed to ensure that only genuine litigants appear before the courts.
Officials stated that the initiative will help curb:
-
Fake and frivolous cases
-
Bogus sureties
-
Use of false or stolen identities
Major Step Toward Judicial Transparency
Authorities believe the biometric system will significantly enhance the credibility and accountability of judicial proceedings. By linking court appearances directly with NADRA records, the chances of impersonation and misuse of the legal process are expected to drop sharply.
Legal Community Welcomes the Move
Legal experts have termed the initiative a major judicial reform, calling it a long-overdue step toward modernizing Pakistan’s court system. Judicial circles say this marks the beginning of a new era of transparency and accountability in Punjab’s judiciary.
The system is expected to streamline court processes while strengthening public trust in the justice system.
