The Punjab government has approved a Rs. 300 million allocation to provide electric bikes and laptops to participants of the Khelta Punjab Games, marking another incentive-based initiative aimed at supporting young athletes across the province.
According to official details, the provincial administration has granted formal approval for a supplementary grant, clearing the way for the release of funds. The project had already been approved earlier, with the latest decision finalizing its financial backing.
Under the plan, the Punjab Finance Department will disburse Rs. 300 million for the procurement of 980 electric bikes. The bikes will be acquired through a government-to-government arrangement from Wah Industries, ensuring direct sourcing and timely delivery.
In addition to electric bikes, the government will distribute more than 600 laptops to players aged under 18. These laptops will be provided through the Chief Minister Laptop Program, with the aim of encouraging both academic and athletic development among young participants.
Officials said the initiative reflects the government’s broader focus on promoting sports, rewarding talent, and supporting youth through modern facilities and incentives.
