PPSC Introduces New Policy Allowing Exam Centre Changes for Candidates

The Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC) has introduced a new policy providing limited flexibility to candidates who need to change their examination centre under exceptional circumstances. The decision aims to offer relief while maintaining the integrity of the examination system.

The notification was issued by PPSC Secretary Afzal Ahmed after approval from Commission Chairman Abdul Aziz.

Who Can Request an Exam Centre Change?

Candidates may apply for a centre change on specific and valid grounds, including:

  • Medical emergencies

  • Clash of examinations

  • Marriage or death of a close family member

  • Pregnancy or maternity cases (for female candidates)

  • Natural disasters

  • Serious law and order situations

Applicants must provide authentic and verifiable documentary evidence. Requests without proper proof will not be considered.

Other Exceptional Circumstances

The policy also allows PPSC to review requests on a case-by-case basis for situations such as:

  • Change of residence

  • Official job transfer

  • Accessibility issues faced by persons with special needs

Supporting documents remain mandatory for all such cases.

Important Restriction for PPSC Employees

The commission clarified that PPSC employees applying for any post will be assigned Lahore as their exam centre, and no change requests will be accepted in these cases.

Why This Policy Matters

This decision provides relief to genuine candidates facing unavoidable difficulties while ensuring strict documentation prevents misuse. The move is seen as a balanced step to make the recruitment process more candidate-friendly.
