Pakistan Railways to Export Wagons and Coaches to Five Countries: Hanif Abbasi

Pakistan Railways is set to take a significant step towards international expansion as Railway Minister Hanif Abbasi announced plans to export railway wagons and passenger coaches to five countries.

Speaking about the initiative, Hanif Abbasi said that Pakistan Railways will export coaches and wagons to Chile, Argentina, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Nepal, marking a major milestone for the country’s railway manufacturing sector.

Foreign Ambassadors to Receive Detailed Briefing

The railway minister revealed that ambassadors from all five countries will be invited to the Ministry of Railways this week, where they will be given a formal presentation on Pakistan Railways’ manufacturing capabilities.

According to Abbasi, the presentation will focus on product quality, technical standards, and cost competitiveness, highlighting Pakistan’s ability to deliver reliable railway equipment at lower prices compared to global competitors.

Competitive Pricing and Quality Assurance

Hanif Abbasi emphasized that Pakistan Railways aims to compete in the international market by offering high-quality coaches and wagons at affordable rates.

“We will brief the ambassadors on our quality standards and explain how Pakistan Railways can provide better-value products than many international suppliers,” he said.

Boost to Exports and Industrial Growth

The proposed export plan is expected to strengthen Pakistan’s export portfolio, generate foreign exchange, and enhance the global reputation of Pakistan Railways’ manufacturing units, particularly the Mughalpura workshops.

Officials believe that successful execution of this plan could open doors to more international contracts in the future.
