The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority has approved the federal government’s request to maintain a uniform electricity base tariff for 2026 across Pakistan, including Karachi.
The decision has been forwarded to the Power Division for issuance of the official notification. The new tariff structure will take effect from January 1, 2026.

No Change in Base Tariff Despite Earlier Cut Approval
Earlier, NEPRA had approved a reduction of Rs 0.62 per unit in the base tariff for 2026. However, under the uniform tariff policy, the government decided to keep electricity prices unchanged nationwide, citing ongoing subsidies for consumers.
