New Transport Fare Schedule Issued Following Diesel Price Reduction

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Transport Department has released a revised transport fare schedule across the province after a reduction in diesel prices, bringing updated rates for public transport users.

According to officials, a 50 percent fare concession will continue for students, persons with disabilities, and passengers aged over 60, ensuring relief for vulnerable groups despite recent economic pressures.

Under the new fare structure, travel from Peshawar to Kohat via flying coach or mini-bus has been set at Rs. 177, while the fare from Peshawar to Bannu now stands at Rs. 530. Passengers traveling from Peshawar to Dera Ismail Khan will pay Rs. 870, whereas the fare to Haripur has been fixed at Rs. 424.

Similarly, the updated fare from Peshawar to Abbottabad via flying coach and mini-bus is Rs. 530, while travel to Mardan has been priced at Rs. 158. The fare for passengers heading to Swat has been set at Rs. 468, and those traveling to Chitral will now pay Rs. 993.

For motorway routes, officials confirmed that the fare from Peshawar to Mardan has been fixed at Rs. 316, while travel from Peshawar to Abbottabad via motorway will cost Rs. 419.

The Transport Department has directed all transport operators to strictly follow the new fare schedule, warning that legal action will be taken against those found charging passengers more than the approved rates.
