NADRA Announces Fee Details for Age Correction on CNIC

The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has shared important details for citizens planning to correct or amend their age on Computerized National Identity Cards (CNICs).

According to NADRA guidelines, CNIC holders are allowed to apply for age correction or modification, provided they can submit valid documentary evidence to support their request.

How Citizens Can Apply for Age Correction

Applicants living in Pakistan can visit their nearest NADRA Registration Center (NRC) or submit requests through the Pak-Identity (Pak-ID) mobile app, making the process more convenient.

Pakistanis residing abroad can apply through NADRA Registration Centers (NRCs) overseas or by visiting the Pakistani embassy or consulate in their country of residence.

Age Correction Fee Structure in Pakistan

NADRA’s fee structure varies based on the duration of age change and whether the correction is being requested for the first or second time.

For citizens residing in Pakistan:

  • Up to 1 year correction: Rs 1,000

  • More than 3 years correction: Up to Rs 5,000

  • Second-time age correction: Rs 10,000

These charges apply only when valid proof is provided and the application meets NADRA’s verification criteria.

Important Points to Remember

Officials advise citizens to ensure all documents are accurate before applying, as multiple corrections attract higher fees and stricter scrutiny. NADRA has emphasized that age correction requests are processed only after thorough verification to prevent misuse.

This update is especially important for individuals applying for passports, visas, government jobs, or educational records, where CNIC age accuracy is critical.
