Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) prices have increased sharply in Karachi, with consumers paying significantly above the official rate.
According to reports, LPG is being sold at Rs 300 per kg, while the official price fixed by the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) stands at Rs 266 per kg.
Price Difference
This means LPG is being sold Rs 34 per kg higher than the notified rate, adding financial pressure on households already struggling with rising living costs.
Public Reaction
Citizens have demanded strict action against profiteers and urged authorities to enforce price regulations.
Why This Matters
LPG is widely used for cooking, especially in areas without natural gas supply. Any increase directly impacts household budgets and small businesses.
