Kite Flying Allowed After Midnight as Lahore Police Issue Basant Rules

With Basant just hours away, Lahore Police have finalized security and monitoring arrangements across the city.

DIG Operations Faisal Kamran said kite flying will be allowed after 12:00 AM, while strict safety enforcement will remain in place.

Drone Monitoring and Control Room

Authorities have set up a central monitoring control room. More than 70 drones will be used for aerial surveillance to keep track of activities in different areas.

Large Police Deployment

Over 10,000 officers and personnel will be deployed across red, yellow, and green security zones to maintain order during the festival.

Safety Rules for Citizens

Police warned that:

  • Motorcycle riders without safety rods will face legal action

  • Kite flying is prohibited near Allama Iqbal International Airport due to aviation safety

Officials emphasized that these steps aim to ensure citizens can enjoy Basant while minimizing risks and preventing accidents.
