Cricket Ireland has announced its 15-member squad for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, with experienced batter Paul Stirling set to captain the side for a second consecutive World Cup.
Ireland have retained 12 players from their 2024 T20 World Cup squad, showing confidence in the core group while adding a few fresh faces to strengthen depth.

Young Talent Earns Selection
The squad includes promising young players, with 22-year-old Tim Tector earning a spot as a top-order batter and off-spinner. He is joined by Ben Calitz (23), a left-handed middle-order batter, and Matthew Humphreys (23), a left-arm spinner.
Selector’s View
Ireland men’s selector Andrew White said the team is looking to improve on its 2024 campaign. He explained that the past 18 months were spent experimenting with combinations and strategies, and selectors are now confident they have assembled a well-balanced squad for the global tournament.
Group and Fixtures
Ireland have been placed in Group B, alongside Sri Lanka, Australia, Oman, and Zimbabwe.
Their T20 World Cup campaign will begin against Sri Lanka on February 8 in Colombo, with all group-stage matches scheduled to be played in Sri Lanka.
