The Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) continues to encourage school enrollment among children from low-income families through its Benazir Education Stipends initiative.
The program is designed to support children of families already benefiting from the BISP Kafalat Program, ensuring enrollment and regular attendance at primary, secondary, and higher secondary education levels.

Recently, BISP issued updated guidelines for registering children under the education stipend scheme. According to officials, only children whose parents are active beneficiaries of the Kafalat Program will be eligible. Once a child’s verification is completed and school attendance requirements are met, quarterly stipends will be released.

Parents are required to visit their nearest tehsil office along with their children for registration. Enrollment is carried out using the child’s B-Form issued by National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA). After registration, parents must get the enrollment slip verified by the child’s school and submit it back to the BISP office to complete the verification process. Payments begin once verification is finalized.
Under the stipend structure, boys and girls receive different amounts at each education level. In addition, girls who successfully complete primary education are awarded a special bonus, aimed at encouraging continued schooling. Age limits have also been defined to ensure children are enrolled at the appropriate education stage.
BISP officials state that the Benazir Education Stipends program plays a crucial role in reducing dropout rates, supporting educational continuity, and improving access to education for underprivileged families. Parents have been urged to complete registration on time so their children can benefit from this educational support without delay.
