Expected Petrol and Diesel Rates from October 1, 2025

According to reports, the new rates are likely to be:

  • Petrol: Expected to rise by Rs 1.97 per litre, taking the price from Rs 264.61 to Rs 266.58.

  • High-Speed Diesel (HSD): Likely to see an increase of Rs 2.48 per litre, reaching Rs 275.25.

  • Kerosene Oil: The sharpest jump of Rs 4.65 per litre, moving the rate to around Rs 184.61.

  • Light Diesel Oil (LDO): An increase of Rs 1.76 per litre, bringing the price to Rs 165.18.

These adjustments are part of the government’s fortnightly review of fuel prices.

Why Are Fuel Prices Increasing?

The hike is linked to global oil price fluctuations, currency depreciation, and higher ex-refinery costs. With Pakistan’s economy heavily dependent on imported petroleum products, international market changes directly affect local prices.

Impact on Daily Life

The increase will put additional pressure on commuters, transporters, and the general public. Higher diesel costs are likely to push up transport fares and freight charges, which could also raise the prices of essential goods.

Final Word

The new prices will be applicable from October 1, 2025, once officially approved. Citizens planning fuel purchases may consider refilling before the revision takes effect.
