Prime Minister’s Special Assistant on Industries and Production, Haroon Akhtar, has shared positive news regarding salary increases and a reduction in energy prices, signaling relief for both the public and the industrial sector.
Speaking at a press conference in Islamabad, Haroon Akhtar said that the recent reduction in electricity prices has already started producing positive results for Pakistan’s manufacturing and production sectors. He added that Pakistan is set to host its first-ever Micro Economic Exhibition, marking a significant milestone for the country’s business ecosystem.

Pakistan’s Largest MSME Expo Announced
According to Haroon Akhtar, the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) Expo will be held at the Lahore Expo Centre from January 24 to January 26. The event will be the largest MSME exhibition in Pakistan’s history, reflecting the government’s strong focus on supporting small businesses and industrial growth.
He emphasized that the government has taken difficult economic decisions, but those measures are now yielding positive outcomes.
Economic Indicators Showing Improvement
The Special Assistant noted that the stock market’s strong performance is a clear indicator of improving economic stability. He also highlighted that the policy rate is gradually decreasing, which is expected to further boost investment and business confidence.
Relief for Public on the Way
Haroon Akhtar confirmed that, in line with the Prime Minister’s vision, a comprehensive industrial policy has been finalized and will be announced soon. He added that the government plans to further reduce energy prices and increase public sector salaries, which will improve the purchasing power of citizens and strengthen domestic demand.
The announcement has raised expectations of economic relief at a time when inflation and living costs remain a major concern for the public.
