Federal Minister for Information Technology Shaza Fatima Khawaja has shared encouraging news for users frustrated by slow internet speeds, saying the government is taking concrete steps to restore high-speed internet services across the country.
Speaking at the closing ceremony of the Buraq Space Camp, the minister praised young participants and said the camp, which began on December 29, 2026, successfully trained 40 shortlisted students.

Shaza Fatima Khawaja said that youth are Pakistan’s most valuable asset and must be prepared to face challenges posed by climate change and the digital era. She highlighted the role of young professionals in cybersecurity efforts, adding that Pakistan has no shortage of talent.
The IT minister said the government is working on multiple initiatives to guide youth in the right direction, while the Digital Pakistan vision aims to provide easier access to data and modern technology for citizens.
Referring to the growth of the digital economy, she noted a 91% increase in freelancing, saying the government is offering training in various sectors to help young people contribute to national development.
Addressing internet issues directly, Shaza Fatima Khawaja confirmed that measures are underway to improve internet speed, and added that 5G services are expected to be launched within the next few months, offering a major boost to connectivity across Pakistan.
