Lahore residents and electric vehicle (EV) owners have a reason to celebrate. The Traffic Police of Lahore announced the establishment of four EV charging stations across the city. These stations will serve both traffic police electric vehicles and citizens who wish to charge their personal electric cars.
Where Will the Charging Points Be?
According to Lahore’s Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Tahir Waheed, the charging stations will be installed at the following locations:
-
Defence
-
Jail Road
-
Raiwind
-
Shahdara
Traffic Police EV Fleet Expansion
The Lahore Traffic Police have already been provided with 10 electric vehicles, and requests for an additional 50 EVs have been made. Moreover, 45 sector in-charges and 15 circle officers will also receive electric vehicles to promote sustainable and clean transportation in the city.
Benefits for Citizens
This initiative not only supports the government’s green transport policy but also allows citizens to charge their own electric vehicles conveniently at designated public locations. With EV infrastructure expanding, Lahore is taking a major step toward reducing carbon emissions and traffic pollution.
Final Notes
The addition of charging points and electric vehicles is part of Lahore’s long-term plan to modernize city transport. Experts say this will encourage more people to adopt electric vehicles, reduce fuel dependency, and contribute to a cleaner urban environment.
