In a move aimed at ensuring public safety and protection of lives and property, the government has decided to provide safe and organized transport services during Basant celebrations.
To prevent road accidents and ensure smooth mobility, citizens will be encouraged to use modern and secure electric bus (E-Bus) services instead of motorcycles, which are considered more vulnerable during festive activities.
Free E-Bus Service for Three Days in Lahore
CEO Metro Bus Service Kausar Khan stated that millions of people rely on public transport in Lahore on a daily basis, making it essential to provide safe and well-managed travel facilities during Basant.
He announced that a free and secure E-Bus service will operate for three days across Lahore during the Basant period to facilitate citizens and reduce the risk of accidents.
Public Urged to Avoid Motorcycles
Kausar Khan emphasized that special arrangements are being made to ensure safe, comfortable, and free travel for the public, helping to prevent any untoward incidents.
He urged citizens to prefer E-Bus services over motorcycles, especially during Basant, in order to ensure their own safety and the safety of others.
Public Safety a Top Government Priority
According to officials, these special arrangements are in line with the vision of the Chief Minister of Punjab, under which public convenience and citizen safety remain the government’s top priorities.
Authorities believe that the initiative will not only improve road safety but also contribute to orderly traffic management and safer Basant celebrations across the city.
