Flour prices have surged once again, adding fresh pressure to household budgets as the cost of a key food staple continues to climb.
Over the past week, the price of a 20-kilogram bag of flour in Peshawar has increased by Rs. 400, according to market sources.

Flour dealers report that the price of a 20kg bag of mixed flour has risen from Rs. 2,600 to Rs. 3,000, while the fine flour (maida) bag has jumped from Rs. 2,700 to Rs. 3,100.
Traders attribute the latest increase to a halt in flour supplies from Punjab, warning that prices could rise further if the supply situation does not improve.
Consumers, already struggling with rising food costs, fear additional hikes in the coming days, while market insiders say uncertainty in inter-provincial supply chains remains a key factor driving the upward trend.
