Performance Allowance Approved

In a significant development, the FBR has also approved the grant of performance allowance to the selected inspectors. Officials confirmed that the allowance will be effective from January 2026.

However, the allowance will be conditional and subject to existing rules and performance benchmarks.

Allowance Can Be Withdrawn

FBR officials stated that the performance allowance may be withdrawn within one month if the officers fail to meet the prescribed criteria. These conditions include:

  • Regular attendance

  • Adherence to discipline and service rules

  • Clean record with no corruption or misconduct

  • Overall professional performance

Policy Linked to 2015 Circular

The allowance will be granted under the framework of the performance allowance policy introduced through a 2015 circular. Authorities emphasized that the initiative aims to improve efficiency, promote accountability, and strengthen institutional discipline within the FBR.

Officials believe that the Internal Job Posting system will help place officers according to their skills while motivating staff through performance-based incentives.
