People planning to buy an iPhone may soon see lower prices, as Pakistan’s customs authorities have announced a significant reduction in customs valuation on used and refurbished smartphones, with a major focus on Apple devices.
The Directorate General of Customs Valuation has revised customs values downward after reviewing current market prices, a move aimed at aligning official valuations with actual retail trends.

Under the revised rates, the customs value of the iPhone 14 Plus has been reduced from $910 to $774. Similarly, the 256GB variant has seen its valuation cut from $1,010 to $859, while the 512GB model has been lowered from $1,210 to $1,029.
The sharp reduction has been welcomed by consumers, as customs valuation directly affects duties and taxes, which in turn influence final market prices.
Officials said the decision was taken after a detailed review of international and local markets to ensure more accurate pricing of mobile devices entering Pakistan. The move is expected to ease the cost burden on buyers and improve transparency in smartphone imports.
Market sources believe the revised valuations could lead to noticeable price drops for refurbished and used iPhones in the coming weeks, making premium devices more accessible to consumers.
