After a severe cold wave in Karachi and other parts of Sindh, private schools have demanded new school timings until January 31.
The Chairman of the All Sindh Private Schools and Colleges Association has recommended that schools should open at 9:00 AM due to extreme weather conditions.
He said that cold weather has badly affected daily life, especially in remote areas, where students face more difficulties in reaching schools early in the morning.
The association has requested the Sindh Education Minister to keep school opening time at 9:00 AM until January 31.
The chairman also asked for an urgent meeting of the Private Schools Steering Committee to prepare a new academic calendar.
Hyder Ali said that unified exam syllabi and paper formats should be announced soon, as very little time is left before exams.
He also requested quick decisions on new admissions, exam schedules, and holidays.
The Sindh Education Minister welcomed the decision to introduce uniform exams and standard papers but warned that delays could create problems in implementation this year.
