Retail cement prices across Pakistan recorded a slight decline over the past week, offering modest relief to consumers, according to official data.
Figures released by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics show that in the week ending January 1, the average retail price of a cement bag in northern cities dropped to Rs. 1,387, reflecting a 0.27 percent decrease compared to the previous week, when prices averaged Rs. 1,391.

In contrast, cement prices in southern cities remained unchanged, with the average retail rate holding steady at Rs. 1,446 per bag during the same period.

Market analysts note that while the reduction is marginal, price stability and slight declines may help ease costs in the construction sector if the trend continues in the coming weeks.
