Prices of broiler chicken meat have increased once again as fluctuations continue in the local poultry market, adding to consumer concerns.
According to market data, the price of broiler chicken meat has gone up by Rs. 7 per kilogram. The official rate for broiler meat has been fixed at Rs. 591 per kg, but reports indicate that overcharging remains common across different parts of the city.

Meanwhile, the wholesale price of live broiler chicken has been set at Rs. 394 per kg, while the retail rate stands at Rs. 408 per kg.
On a stable note, the price of farm eggs has remained unchanged at Rs. 331 per dozen. The wholesale rate of an egg crate is currently Rs. 9,810.
Consumers have expressed frustration over frequent price changes and the lack of effective enforcement to ensure sales at officially notified rates.
