The federal government has announced a major relief initiative for women under the Prime Minister’s Ramadan Package, with plans to open digital wallets for 500,000 women across Pakistan.
The announcement was made by Shaza Fatima, Federal Minister for Information Technology, during a meeting with a business delegation from DAMAC Properties at the Ministry of IT.

While briefing the delegation, the minister highlighted Pakistan’s Digital Nation Vision and outlined the government’s ongoing digital transformation policies. She emphasized initiatives aimed at women’s digital inclusion and financial empowerment, noting that the digital wallets are being introduced as part of the Ramadan relief package, alongside existing financial support provided to women under the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP).
The discussion also covered potential areas of collaboration, including outsourcing, technology talent development, proptech solutions, and tokenisation, with a focus on improving efficiency and increasing liquidity through digital platforms.
The DAMAC delegation included Amira Hussain Sajwani, Aqib Hassan, and Joseph El Am, who praised Pakistan’s digital ecosystem and acknowledged the country’s strong potential in proptech and investment opportunities. The delegation also commended the skills and capabilities of Pakistani youth, calling them a valuable asset for future partnerships.
Officials said the digital wallet initiative is expected to improve financial access, transparency, and inclusion for women, particularly those benefiting from government welfare programs during Ramadan.
