The Pakistan Super League is set to enter a new phase of expansion as the auction for two new teams will take place tomorrow.
The auction ceremony will be held at the Convention Centre Islamabad, marking a major step ahead of the 11th edition of the PSL, which will now feature eight teams instead of six.
According to the Pakistan Cricket Board, bidders will be allowed to select two teams from a list of six shortlisted cities. The proposed cities include Faisalabad, Hyderabad, Sialkot, Muzaffarabad, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Rawalpindi, all of which are under consideration for PSL representation.
Strong Interest From Investors
The PCB has already confirmed details of 10 qualified bidders, highlighting strong commercial and corporate interest in the league’s expansion. From these bidders, two successful parties will secure ownership rights for the new franchises.
Officials say the inclusion of new teams is aimed at broadening the PSL’s regional footprint, increasing competitiveness, and creating new fan bases across the country.
