The Punjab Education Department has introduced new standard operating procedures (SOPs) to streamline Leave Preparatory to Retirement (LPR) cases for teachers, according to a report by 24News.
Under the revised system, incomplete LPR applications will no longer be accepted. Officials have been instructed to ensure that every case submitted includes a complete checklist along with all required documents.

According to the new instructions, all supporting documents must be formally verified by the concerned District Education Officer (DEO) or Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Officers are also required to submit clear and specific recommendations with each case.
The department has made it clear that any LPR case missing required documents will be returned without processing.
Teachers applying for LPR are now required to attach their service book, appointment letters, promotion notifications, recent salary slips, and a complete leave record covering their entire service period.
In addition, the Education Department has warned that district officers will be held responsible for any delays in processing LPR cases, signaling a stricter accountability mechanism.
