Australia have announced their preliminary squad for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, bringing back several key players including Pat Cummins, Cameron Green, and Cooper Connolly.
Chief selector George Bailey confirmed that the trio were not part of Australia’s recent series against India but have now been recalled as part of the World Cup planning.

Bailey said that Pat Cummins, Josh Hazlewood, and Tim David are progressing well in their recovery from injuries and the selectors are confident all three will be available for the World Cup. He added that the announced group is an initial squad, and changes can be made during the tournament period if required.
The chief selector also revealed that Australia’s squad for the three-match T20 series against Pakistan will be announced separately at a later stage.
The preliminary squad includes captain Mitchell Marsh, Xavier Bartlett, Cooper Connolly, Nathan Ellis, Pat Cummins, Tim David, Cameron Green, Josh Hazlewood, and Travis Head. Other players named are Josh Inglis, Matthew Kuhnemann, Glenn Maxwell, Matthew Short, Marcus Stoinis, and Adam Zampa.
The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup is scheduled to begin on February 7 and will be jointly hosted by India and Sri Lanka.
