In a major step toward digital transformation, the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has introduced a new online identity verification system called “Nishan-e-Pakistan.” The initiative is part of the government’s Digital Economy Enhancement Project.
This advanced web portal aims to streamline identity verification by bringing registration, subscription, and data access services onto a single platform.
One-Window System for Institutions
Previously, both government and private organizations faced lengthy documentation processes and multiple approvals. The new system simplifies the entire procedure, making onboarding faster and more transparent.
Under the NADRA Ordinance framework, the service will be available not only to public sector departments but also to regulated private entities, including:
-
Banks
-
Telecom companies
-
Financial institutions
Faster and Legally Compliant Verification
The portal ensures that identity verification is completed in minutes while maintaining full compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. Officials say the system is designed to support modern digital services and reduce delays in customer onboarding.
Enhanced Data Security
Another major feature of Nishan-e-Pakistan is its focus on data protection. The fully digital system strengthens security mechanisms, helping protect citizens’ personal information while enabling quick access for authorized institutions.
