The Islamabad administration has decided to take strict action against unregistered online taxi and bike services, aiming to improve passenger safety and regulate ride-hailing operations in the capital.
Mandatory Registration for All Ride-Hailing Services
The district administration has announced that all online taxi services must be formally registered.
Under the new system:

Complete details of drivers and vehicles will be collected

Records will be maintained through a digital automation system
Action Against Unregistered Bike Services
The Deputy Commissioner has directed the Secretary of the Islamabad Transport Authority to begin a crackdown against unregistered Bykea and other bike services.
All such services will be required to register before continuing operations.
Police to Have Access to Registration Data
Once registered, all data will be accessible to Islamabad Police through a dedicated application.
This move aims to enhance security and monitoring of ride-hailing activities.
Passenger Details to Be Mandatory
After registration:

Drivers must upload passenger details on the app

Entering the passenger’s CNIC number will be mandatory before starting a trip
Without this information, drivers will not be allowed to carry passengers.
Registration Process Starts Tomorrow
On the instructions of the Deputy Commissioner Islamabad, the formal registration drive will begin tomorrow.
Ride-hailing companies’ CEOs have also been directed to coordinate with authorities.
