Authorities in Balochistan have continued the suspension of mobile internet services and train operations for the fourth consecutive day following recent security incidents. The restrictions have affected daily life in Quetta and several other parts of the province.
The shutdown of mobile data services has caused significant inconvenience to residents, businesses, and especially the journalist community, which relies heavily on internet access for reporting and communication.
Internet Suspension Creating Difficulties
Users across multiple districts are facing communication barriers due to the ongoing mobile internet outage. Online services, digital payments, and remote work activities have been disrupted, adding to public frustration.
Officials earlier stated that the internet service was suspended as a precautionary step in response to the security situation.
Train Services Also Halted
In addition to internet restrictions, railway operations from Balochistan to other provinces remain suspended. According to railway sources, train services have been stopped due to law and order concerns.
The Pakistan Railways confirmed that the Jaffar Express to Peshawar did not depart from Quetta for the fourth straight day. Similarly, the Bolan Mail service to Karachi also remains suspended.
Possible Extension of Suspension
Sources suggest that train operations may remain halted for several more days depending on the security assessment. Passengers planning inter-provincial travel have been advised to check updates before making arrangements.
Public Impact Growing
With both transport and communication services affected, citizens are facing increasing difficulties in mobility, business operations, and daily communication. Traders, students, and office workers are among those most impacted.
Authorities have not provided a confirmed timeline for full restoration, but efforts are underway to normalize the situation as soon as possible.
