Punjab Excise Department Launches Re-Registration of Vehicles from Other Provinces

The Punjab Excise and Taxation Department has announced a major relief for vehicle owners, confirming that the re-registration of vehicles from other provinces will begin from tomorrow across Punjab, including Lahore.

This step is expected to benefit thousands of car owners who have relocated to Punjab and were facing registration-related difficulties.

Requirements for Re-Registration

According to the Excise Department, vehicle owners will need to submit the following documents at their relevant Punjab excise office:

  • No Objection Certificate (NOC)
  • Original vehicle documents
  • Existing number plates

After verification and approval of documents, the vehicle will be issued a new Punjab registration number.

Digital Biometric Verification Coming Soon

Additional Director General Excise Rizwan Sherwani revealed that a major digital upgrade is also on the way. The Pak ID App is in its final development stage and will soon enable biometric verification for vehicle transfer and registration.

  • NADRA data integration has been completed
  • Full system integration and staff training are underway
  • The service will be available for local and overseas Pakistanis

Register Your Vehicle from Home

Once launched, the Pak ID App will allow citizens to complete biometric verification from home, making vehicle registration and transfer faster, safer, and more convenient.

Conclusion

The launch of inter-provincial vehicle re-registration and upcoming digital verification marks a significant improvement in public service delivery. The initiative aims to reduce delays, improve transparency, and make vehicle ownership processes easier across Punjab.
