UAE Announces Reduction in Petrol and Diesel Prices from February 1

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has announced a reduction in petrol and diesel prices, bringing relief to motorists. According to Arab media reports, the new fuel rates have come into effect from February 1.

Under the revised prices, Super 98 petrol is now available at 2.45 dirhams per litre, compared to 2.53 dirhams per litre in January. Similarly, Special 95 petrol has been reduced to 2.33 dirhams per litre, down from 2.42 dirhams per litre last month.

Meanwhile, E-Plus 91 petrol is now being sold at 2.26 dirhams per litre, compared to 2.34 dirhams per litre in January. The price of diesel has also been reduced and fixed at 2.52 dirhams per litre.

Relief for UAE Drivers, Pressure on Pakistani Consumers

The reduction in fuel prices is expected to benefit residents and businesses in the UAE by lowering transportation and daily commuting costs. Experts say lower fuel rates can also help reduce inflationary pressure on goods and services.

In contrast, Pakistan is currently facing rising fuel costs. Authorities have recently increased the price of diesel, while keeping petrol prices unchanged. The hike in diesel rates is likely to affect transport fares and commodity prices across the country.

Regional Fuel Price Trends

Analysts believe that global oil market trends and exchange rate fluctuations play a key role in determining fuel prices in both countries. While the UAE continues to adjust prices in line with international rates, Pakistan’s fuel pricing remains under pressure due to economic challenges.

Consumers in Pakistan are closely watching future government decisions, hoping for possible relief in upcoming price reviews.
