Chicken Meat Prices Increase Again Across Pakistan

Chicken meat prices have once again increased in local markets, adding further pressure on household budgets. According to the latest updates, the price of chicken meat has gone up by Rs 8 per kilogram, pushing the rate of broiler meat to Rs 519 per kg.

Meanwhile, cleaned (safi) chicken meat is now being sold at around Rs 570 per kg, making it even more expensive for consumers. The continuous rise in poultry prices has raised serious concerns among buyers, especially for middle- and lower-income families.

Latest Official Chicken Rates Announced

Authorities have also released updated official rates for live chicken. As per the new price list, the farm rate has been fixed at Rs 330 per kg, while the wholesale rate stands at Rs 344 per kg. The retail price has been set at Rs 358 per kg.

Despite these official rates, many consumers complain that chicken is being sold at higher prices in several areas. Market observers believe that rising production costs, transportation expenses, and supply issues are among the main reasons behind the frequent price hikes.

Public Concern Over Rising Food Prices

The repeated increase in chicken prices has added to the financial burden on the public, as poultry is considered one of the most affordable sources of protein in Pakistan. Citizens are urging the government and price control authorities to take effective steps to stabilize the market and ensure fair pricing.

Until strict monitoring is implemented, consumers are expected to continue facing higher food costs in the coming days.
