The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Lahore has formed Quick Response Teams (QRTs) across the city to ensure public safety and emergency preparedness during Basant Festival 2026.
According to an official notification, QRTs will be deployed in every tehsil to respond promptly to any untoward incidents during the celebrations.

Assistant Commissioners Appointed as Team Heads
All Assistant Commissioners have been appointed as conveners of the Quick Response Teams. Each team includes representatives from Rescue 1122, LESCO, Lahore Development Authority (LDA), WASA, and Punjab Police.
The coordinated approach aims to ensure swift response, crowd management, and safety enforcement during the festival.
Kite Flying Banned on Dangerous and Dilapidated Buildings
The notification clearly states that kite flying has been completely banned on dangerous and dilapidated buildings across Lahore.
The district administration has directed officials to inspect all hazardous buildings and complete fitness certification by February 2.
Strict Action Against Violators
Authorities will obtain affidavits from owners of unsafe buildings, warning that strict legal action will be taken in case of violations.
Officials emphasized that the measures are intended to prevent accidents and protect lives during Basant celebrations.
Administration on High Alert
The DC Lahore confirmed that all necessary preparations have been finalized, and QRTs will remain active throughout the festival to avoid any unpleasant incidents.
Citizens have been urged to follow safety guidelines and cooperate with authorities to ensure a safe and enjoyable Basant.
