All train services operating from Quetta to both inter-provincial and intra-provincial destinations have been suspended, according to railway authorities, following the deteriorating security situation in parts of Balochistan.
Major Routes Affected
Railway sources confirmed that the following train services have been suspended:

Jaffar Express (Quetta to Punjab)

Bolan Mail (Quetta to Karachi)

Chaman Passenger Train (Quetta to Chaman)
In addition, the Jaffar Express coming from Peshawar was stopped at Jacobabad, and affected passengers will be refunded their ticket fares, officials said.
Recent Security Operations in Balochistan
It is important to note that on January 29, 2026, security forces carried out a major operation in Harnai, killing 30 terrorists. In a separate operation in Panjgur, 11 terrorists were eliminated.
Fresh Attacks Reported
Despite these operations, militants attacked police again today, resulting in the martyrdom of two police personnel, while three others were injured.
Meanwhile, the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) conducted another operation last night, killing three terrorists.
