The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has directed all commercial bank branches, including NBP branches handling customs payments, to remain open for extended working hours on Saturday, January 31, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
The move aims to facilitate taxpayers in making over-the-counter (OTC) payments of government duties and taxes, ensuring smoother financial transactions before deadlines.

The extended hours are part of a special clearing arrangement for government transactions conducted through NIFT.

Branches have been advised to remain open as long as required to ensure that all taxpayers can complete their transactions without delay.
