South Africa Women Announces White-Ball Squad vs Pakistan

Cricket South Africa (CSA) has officially announced the women’s white-ball squads for the upcoming home series against Pakistan, which includes three T20 Internationals and three One-Day Internationals. The series will serve as a key preparation phase ahead of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026, scheduled for June and July.

The T20I series will take place from February 10 to 16, offering South Africa an opportunity to test combinations and build momentum. One of the major highlights is the inclusion of 20-year-old batting all-rounder Kayla Reyneke, who has received her first senior international call-up following consistent domestic performances.

Selectors Praise Kayla Reyneke’s Development

CSA’s convenor of selectors, Clinton du Preez, described Reyneke as a “talent to watch” and said her selection reflects her steady growth and maturity. He emphasized that the youngster has shown remarkable improvement in both skills and temperament, earning her place in the national side.

ODI Series to Begin New Championship Cycle

After the T20I matches, the teams will compete in a three-match ODI series in Bloemfontein, Centurion, and Durban on February 22, 25, and March 1. The ODI squad features four changes from the T20I lineup, with Lara Goodall, Faye Tunnicliffe, Nondumiso Shangase, and Tumi Sekhukhune included.

These players replace Ayabonga Khaka, Masabata Klaas, Kayla Reyneke, and Dane van Niekerk for the 50-over format. The ODI series will also mark the beginning of South Africa’s Women’s Championship cycle.

Coach Confident Ahead of Pakistan Series

Head coach Mandla Mashimbyi expressed satisfaction with the selected squads and believes the Pakistan series will play a vital role in preparing the team for a demanding international schedule. He said the matches will help build consistency and competitiveness at the highest level.

With strong leadership under Laura Wolvaardt, South Africa aim to deliver solid performances against Pakistan in both formats.
