The Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) has announced good news for consumers who submitted demand notices for single-phase meters. Meters for notices submitted up to September have now been issued.
According to sources, LESCO had temporarily halted connections for single-phase meters in August due to stock shortages. However, the company has now resumed installations for all demand notices submitted up to September. Additionally, meters will also be installed for notices submitted in August, September, and October.
Over 35,000 Consumers to Benefit
More than 35,000 consumers had submitted demand notices for connections, paying approximately PKR 250 million in advance. The recent update means these consumers will now receive their meters and connections without further delays.
Transition to Smart AMI Single-Phase Meters
Previously, stock shortages had paused installations of static single-phase meters. In November, LESCO updated its policy to transition to AMI Smart Single-Phase Meters, which are now being issued under the revised guidelines.
This move reflects LESCO’s efforts to streamline electricity connections, improve service delivery, and ensure timely installation of meters for consumers across its supply area.
