After schools, colleges in Lahore have also started preparations for Basant celebrations, marking the expansion of festivities across educational institutions in the provincial capital.
According to sources, the Higher Education Department will organize a central Basant event at Chuna Mandi College, where the Chief Minister of Punjab is also expected to attend.
Free Transport Arrangements for Citizens
To facilitate public participation during Basant, college buses will be used to provide free transport services for citizens.
Sources revealed that 123 buses from various colleges across Lahore will be handed over to the district administration, enabling residents to travel easily to different Basant-related events across the city.
Rooftop Use Restricted Over Safety Concerns
However, due to structural safety concerns, college rooftops will not be used for Basant activities. Authorities have stated that many rooftops are not suitable for large gatherings, prompting organizers to plan events accordingly.

The decision to restrict rooftop access has been taken to ensure public safety and prevent any untoward incidents during Basant celebrations. The administration emphasized that all arrangements are being finalized with safety as the top priority.
