Lahore Introduces New Rules for Kite-Flying Materials

The Lahore administration has announced new regulations for kite-flying materials to ensure safety and control prices in the city.

According to Commissioner Lahore, Maryam Khan, from now on, kite materials from other cities can only be brought in by licensed holders. Individuals transporting kites and threads (Gudde and Dor) must have a permit to legally enter Lahore.

Reason Behind the New Rules

The new rules aim to address shortages and rising prices of kite-flying materials in Lahore. CCPO Lahore, Bilal Siddique Kamiana, stated that limiting unlicensed imports will help stabilize prices and maintain public safety during kite-flying events.

Important Guidelines

  • No kites with political figures’ images are allowed.

  • Children under 18 can fly kites, but the use of illegal threads or kites will result in action against their parents.

  • The regulations aim to ensure discipline and safety during kite-flying events in Lahore.
