The Punjab government has launched a major financial relief initiative called the Ramadan Nighban Package to support citizens during Ramadan 2026. Approved by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the package aims to provide cash assistance of Rs. 10,000 to millions of eligible families across the province.
The total package, valued at Rs. 47 billion, is expected to benefit approximately 4.2 million families and over 10 million individuals. For ration card holders, the monthly assistance has been increased from Rs. 3,000 to Rs. 10,000.
How Eligible Families Can Receive Cash
The government will issue over 2 million Nighban Cards, which can be used to withdraw cash from:

ATMs connected to the One Link network
To facilitate smooth distribution, 136 activation centers have been established across Punjab. District administrations have been instructed to deliver the cards door-to-door, ensuring citizens do not have to wait in long queues.
Additional Support and Food Distribution
In addition to cash, the government will set up 8 Nighban Dastarkhwan centers in each Tehsil, providing thousands of people with iftar daily. A dedicated Ramadan Nighban Dashboard has also been launched to ensure transparency and monitor the distribution of assistance.
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif emphasized that the government will fully support every deserving family during Ramadan and ensure no one is left behind.
