Preparations are underway to revise school timings during Ramadan 2026, with the aim of providing ease to students, teachers, and school staff observing fasts.
According to officials, Ramadan in Pakistan is expected to begin on February 18 or 19, subject to moon sighting. In view of this, the Punjab School Education Department has announced plans to adjust working hours for educational institutions across the province.
Why School Timings Are Being Changed
The adjustment in school hours is intended to:
-
Reduce physical strain on fasting students
-
Support teachers and staff during Ramadan
-
Ensure academic continuity with shorter working hours
Similar changes are traditionally implemented every year during the holy month.
