Sources confirm that the legal framework required for regular payments has now been fully completed, paving the way for the program’s practical implementation.
Punjab Cabinet Approves Legal Agreement
According to officials, the Punjab Cabinet has approved a standard legal agreement with the Bank of Punjab, which was the last remaining requirement for launching the program.
With this approval:

Monthly Honorarium Through Bank of Punjab
Under the program, mosque imams will receive a monthly honorarium of Rs 25,000, which will be disbursed through the Bank of Punjab.
The initiative has already received formal approval from the Chief Minister of Punjab, confirming the government’s commitment to the welfare of religious leaders.
Program Size Exceeds Rs 20 Billion
Sources further revealed that the total financial volume of the Imam Honorarium Program exceeds Rs 20 billion.
The Home Department had earlier submitted a summary to the Punjab Cabinet, which was later approved through circulation, expediting the process.
