Massive Rise in Learner and Regular Licenses

Official data shows that over 310,000 citizens obtained learner driving licenses, while more than 280,000 people were issued fresh regular driving licenses during this period.

In addition, over 278,000 citizens renewed learner, regular, and international driving licenses, reflecting growing awareness about legal driving requirements.

International Driving Permits and Online Services

Traffic Police reported that more than 2,000 international driving permits were issued, catering to citizens traveling abroad.

Meanwhile, over 25,000 people used the online licensing portal, allowing applicants to apply from home — a step that has greatly reduced congestion at licensing centers.

Strict Action Against Unlicensed Driving

DIG Traffic Punjab Muhammad Waqas Nazir warned that driving without a valid license is a punishable offense, adding that violators are facing heavy fines and strict legal action.

He stated that the increasing trend of learning before driving has contributed to a visible decline in traffic accidents across Punjab.

E-Driving License Fully Legal

The Traffic Police confirmed that the e-driving license holds the same legal status as a physical license card, encouraging citizens to adopt digital solutions for convenience and safety.

Punjab Traffic Police continues to raise awareness about the importance of proper licensing to ensure safer roads and improved traffic discipline.
