YouTube has announced several major updates to YouTube Shorts, revealing that users’ Shorts feeds will soon feature a significant amount of artificial intelligence (AI)-generated content, including AI versions of creators themselves.
In his annual letter, YouTube CEO Neal Mohan stated that sometime this year, creators will be able to produce Shorts that reflect their own personality using AI tools. However, he did not provide specific details on what “personality-based” content would involve.
Mohan said that YouTube will soon share more information about these features, including how they will work and when they will be available.

AI Tools Expanding Rapidly on YouTube
The use of AI tools on YouTube is growing quickly. A YouTube spokesperson confirmed that later this year, creators will be able to use AI through text prompts to create games. In addition, experimental music-related AI features will also be introduced for users.
Measures Against AI Spam
In his letter, Neal Mohan emphasized that YouTube is actively developing systems to prevent the spread of AI-generated spam and reduce the visibility of low-quality content on the platform.
He also announced that YouTube will introduce additional new features, including support for multiple content formats, such as image posts, which will become a direct part of users’ feeds.
Massive Growth of YouTube Shorts
According to Mohan, YouTube Shorts are watched over 200 billion times daily worldwide, highlighting the platform’s massive global reach and influence.
