Pakistan will launch its first nationwide polio vaccination campaign of 2026 from February 2 to February 8, covering 159 districts across the country, health authorities have confirmed.
According to the National Emergency Operations Centre (NEOC), more than 45 million children will be administered polio drops during the week-long campaign. The drive aims to protect children from birth up to 15 months of age and strengthen routine immunization coverage.
To ensure smooth implementation, over 400,000 male and female polio workers will be deployed nationwide, going door to door to vaccinate children. Health officials have urged parents to fully cooperate with vaccination teams and ensure that no child is missed.
Authorities have also reminded parents to complete the full routine immunization schedule for children from birth to 15 months, stressing that timely vaccination is critical to preventing polio transmission.
