The Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) has announced a 24-hour suspension of gas supply in Karachi, primarily affecting industrial consumers, as part of its winter load management plan.
In an official statement, an SSGC spokesperson said the decision has been taken to ensure better gas pressure for domestic and commercial users during the peak winter demand period.

Affected Consumers and Timings
According to SSGC, industrial gas supply in Karachi will remain suspended from 8:00 am on Sunday, January 11, until 8:00 am on Monday, January 12. The company clarified that this temporary shutdown is aimed at stabilizing pressure for household users amid increased winter consumption.
Domestic and commercial consumers will not be directly affected by this specific suspension. However, SSGC noted that routine load management will continue, under which gas supply to domestic and commercial users remains suspended daily from 10:00 pm to 5:00 am.
Helpline for Domestic Complaints
SSGC has advised domestic consumers to report any gas pressure issues during this period by contacting the 24-hour operational helpline at 1199. The company assured that complaints will be addressed on a priority basis.
Officials added that gas supply to industrial consumers will be restored immediately after the specified period, once system pressure stabilizes.
The company reiterated that such measures are temporary and necessary to manage demand during the winter season while ensuring uninterrupted supply to households.
